Amnesty supporters celebrate victories as ALIPAC regroups

More than 50,000 immigration supporters from across the country got together with friends, family and neighbors Nov. 18 to hear Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) lay out the strategy for winning reform on a telephonic briefing, according to Center for Community Change.

The call came just days after Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano reiterated the president’s commitment to passing comprehensive immigration reform in early 2010, showing support for reform is strong and growing, advocates claim.

People were able to join the call individually or from the nearly 900 house parties held across the country. The large number of house parties is remarkable considering last week a major anti-immigration group could only rile up its base for 53 events, sponsors bragged in a press release.

I didn't see that many on their map. Also the ones I saw were held at La Raza affiliates. You know those non-profits that are not supposed to be political.

The real question is, among whom? Illegals? American Citizens? I'll bet all of Mexico is in favor of amnesty.

Well, there is a good way to verify there were 900 house parties listening through phone records. Unfortunately that would probably take a court order.

I went to the examiner.com website to check-out some of the readers' comments. A lady named April wrote that she was against Amnesty for illegal aliens. I was shocked to see this dissenting opinion:

DS says: "Racist April. It will happen no matter how many calls you make. No one cares about your lazy hillbilly life. Your forefathers came to this country illegally killing thousands of Indians. Don't be a pimple on my ###. Welcome others, after all they are doing more for this economy than you are. This country was built on the backs of the illegals while the hillbillies took credit".

And here we have another contradiction. DS calls April a racist, but then calls her a hillbilly. And our Congress wants to pass an Amnesty for them? And make them Americans?
