TWO OF THE U.S. MARSHALS MOST WANTED ARRESTED
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Earlier this week, U.S. Marshals were notified that 2 of the fugitives on New Mexico’s Most Wanted were apprehended. Jose Arriola-Tirado, 30, has been a fugitive from justice for over a year. Arriola-Tirado was indicted after the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) served a warrant on his Farmington home. Throughout the investigation agents confiscated over 300 grams of methamphetamine, a hand gun, and over $5,000 in cash from Arriola-Tirado. After the indictment, Arriola-Tirado fled the country before he could be arrested. Jose Arriola-Tirado was added as one of the U. S. Marshals Service, District of New Mexico’s Most Wanted for the Farmington area.
Arriola-Tirado was recently arrested at the U. S Port of Entry in Nogales attempting to enter into the United States illegally through Arizona. Arriola-Tirado is being confined at the Central Arizona Detention Center where he is awaiting extradition to New Mexico.
Enrique Gutierrez, 27, was featured as one of New Mexico’s Most Wanted a few months ago. Gutierrez was wanted for 4 counts of Aggravated Assault resulting in bodily injury against a household member while using a deadly weapon. Gutierrez was recently arrested on a traffic stop after concealing his identity to law enforcement officers. Gutierrez is a member of the Barrio Azteca Gang and is currently incarcerated in the Lea Corrections Center in Hobbs, NM.
Annually, investigations carried out by the U.S. Marshals result in the apprehension of approximately 34,000 federal fugitives. More federal fugitives are arrested by Marshals than all other federal agencies combined.
