Another invader sob story: 'immigration widows'
Attorney: New law could create 'immigration widows'
Associated Press - October 12, 2007 10:45 AM ET
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma City attorney says a law intended to crack down on illegal immigrants could mean more people on welfare in the state.
Attorney Michael Brooks-Jimenez says the law could force women who are U.S. citizens to become "immigration widows" and apply for state aid for themselves and their children when their illegal immigrant husbands are departed.
And he says the state Department of Human Services may have to take custody of American-born children if both their parents are illegal immigrants and are deported.
State Representative Randy Terrill authored the legislation and says it's possible there would be a "limited" number of such cases. But Terrill says the people this would be happening to are in the U.S. illegally and he says committing a crime has consequences.

Conflicting information here. Most illegals are already on some type of welfare/entitlement programs as they don't make enough money, what's going to change?
I can't think of many who would leave their kids behind, the whole family would self-deport. This is why the 14th amendment must be interpreted correctly and anchor baby provisions stopped.
Let's enforce the laws and see what happens, hmmm?Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I am just curious. How did they get marriage certificates? I had to show a valid birth certificate and I believe my license when I got married.
More document fraud I see. Nothing ever happens because we are told the only law this dirtbags break is coming here to feed their families.

This is crass propaganda. Illegals who marry US citizens can apply for a green card, it is long and expensive but they normally don't get deported. Now if they are a felon they might get deported, but there are also a lot of American felons is prison whose families are on welfare, that doesn't stop these felons from going to prison, and it shouldn't stop us from deporting illegal felons married to US citizens

Ummmmm.....and just why would the US have to take custody of anchor babies if both parents are deported?
The kids are Mexican citizens and no one is stopping their parents from taking the kids with them. The parents are abandoning them here in hopes of them being a ticket back here.......a practice that can be quickly stoped if the parents are informed that child abandonment is a crime and should they choose that option, they will....before being deported.....be charged and serve the jail time just like any one else who is gulty of child abandonment.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
