Another North Carolina Sanctuary
Here it is, hot off the presses. I am told the following resolution has passed and is now in force. While I did not find any reference in a site search I suspect it may already be posted here, and if so please accept my apologies for the duplication.
As this is the actual document file forwarded by the county at citizen request I cannot provide a link to the document. Here is the county website if you would like to inquire directly regarding the authenticity. http://www.chathamnc.org/

A related story is another precious nugget recently aired by NPR which can be found at:

Be sure to listen to the audio documentary found on the page below the Web Resources tab while there. The numbers revealed in NPRs piece as well as the documentary are truly a revelation!

Is there something wrong with the air or water quality in commission chambers? They want to save the diversity of their communities in violation of federal immigration laws. They accuse the country's law enforcement officers of things nearing war crimes. Impeach, expel or deport these folks just for their holier-than-federal-law position.

Here's a local sounding board where all our ALIPACer buds can share their horror stories with the community in Chatham. NOTICE: They appear to have a screening procedure following the registration process (whatever that is), but feel free to educate these folks if you can. Maybe your experiences will filter into Commission Chambers and drown out the sob stories with a healthy dose of reality.

(Maybe not though...if I remember right the documentary statistics quoted the population demographics of Siler City have moved from 70% white- 30% black to 50% Hispanic - 25% white - 25% black with 85% of elementary school students ESL currently. I'm not sure the Commissioners had much of a voice in their own community anymore if those numbers are accurate.)

Soon, the commerce will vanish there and the wave will move on. In the mean time, here's the location to be avoided. US 64 is the east-west highway through Pittsboro, the county seat. Easily avoided unless you're unfortunate enough to live there.

Scroll down to read about the 613% increase in the Hispanic population of Chatham Country between 1990 and 2000.
Chatham County
Local Information / Statistics and Demographics
Population and Income Information
Printer Friendly The statistics provided below are provided by the U.S. Census Bureau, the North Carolina State Data Center and the N.C. Department of Commerce.
Population Information: The 2000 Census estimated our population at 49,329, an increase of 21% since 1990. However, the US Census Bureau estimates that our 2007 population was 61,455, an increase of about 1,500 from their 2006 estimate. With these latest estimates, Chatham County has the 12th highest growth rate compared to other counties since 2000. This is significant since we were ranked 17th the previous year.
Less than 20% of our county’s residents live in incorporated towns. The county has about 85 residents per square mile, which reflects its generally rural nature. The incorporated towns in the county have an estimated 2007 population of:
Siler City: 8,540
Pittsboro: 2,454
Goldston: 372
Cary: 320 (the large share of Cary's population is in Wake County as it has a total population of 121,796)
Ethnic/Racial Diversity: The overall, racial/ethnic composition of Chatham County is: 71.6% white, 14% African American, 11.3% Hispanic, 1.9% Asian and 1.2% other.
THE MAJOR CHANGE HAS BEEN A 613% INCREASE IN THE HISPANIC POPULATION BETWEEN 1990 AND 2000. THE COUNTY HAD AN ESTIMATED 564 HIPSANIC RESIDENTS IN 1990 AND THIS SWELLED TO AN ESTIMATED 4,743 IN 2000.
However, the State Data Center
estimates that the Hispanic population
in the county increased to around 6,500 in 2005. The majority of the growing Hispanic population is located in and around Siler City, but other areas are also seeing increases. The African-American population and Caucasian population continues to increase as well, BUT NOT AS AN OVERALL PERCENTAGE OF THE COUNTY'S POPULATION.

St. Julia Church.

Age: The 2005 median age for Chatham County residents is 37.3, which is above the state average of 36.2, but is lower than the county’s 2000 median age of 38.7 years. The greatest percentage of our population (63.7%) is in the range of 18 to 64 years old, which is fairly high for the state and the nation.
Income and Poverty: The median household income for Chatham County in 2003 was $44,218, which places us eighth in the state. Per capita income for 2004 was $35,426, which ranks third out of the 100 counties. The percentage of residents living in poverty in 2003 was estimated at 9.6% and this is just above the state average of 9.4%. This points out the challenges of a county with residents at extreme ends of the income spectrum.

Cut off all federal and state funds to Chatham county . Let the illegals pay for the infrastructure . It never ceases to amaze me at the stupidity of elected officials . I sincerely hope that counsel members have a chance to be in harms way by one of their beloved illegal aliens that they want to protect so much . Why do we keep electing idiots ?

Unfortunately, with President-elect Obama and his minions promising amnesty, the new Democrat governor Beverly Perdue at the helm, and a Democrat-ruled General Assembly that has historically been sympathetic to illegal alien promoting lobbyists, there will definitely be no defunding.
Hopefully William will discuss this topic on the Last American Standing show that airs this afternoon. You can listen to his show live online at http://www.republicbroadcasting.org/ at 3pm today, or get it later on MP3 download from the show archives at http://www.republicbroadcasting.org/ind ... d=archives

Chatham commissioners take stand against ICE immigration enforcement
Posted: Jan. 12 11:22 p.m.
Updated: Jan. 12 11:44 p.m.
The Chatham County Board of Commissioners recently approved a resolution expressing opposition to governmental agencies contracting with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to enforce federal immigration laws. Their concern: participation in ICE could have negative consequences for the community.
"These unintended consequences do in fact occur, especially when you don't have the where with all to properly enforce the laws and we don't here in Chatham County,â€Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn
