RALEIGH, N.C. – Illegal immigrant Jose Alvarado-Ivanez has been deported 12 times.
Still, he keeps coming back to the Triangle and breaking the law.
Federal agents say Alvardo-Ivanez may finally be going to prison.
His case raises several questions about immigration, crime and deportation. It’s an example of what some call a broken immigrations system.
Discuss This Story
Alvardo-Ivanez is one of thousands of undocumented immigrants who are arrested, accused of serious crimes and sent back to Mexico.
Deporting criminal immigrants is something some lawmakers want to see happen more often.
U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole, for example, wants to give local police the power to start the deportation process.
"If they can be deputized to really start the process, where a court has ordered that someone leave the country because of all the things thy have been convicted of, that's gonna make a difference,â€Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Immigrants Dozen Deportations-
I beg to differ with you sir. There is no labor shortage in this country. There is only a shortage of cheap labor. I want to know who was doing these jobs before these illegals came here and took jobs from legal American citizens? Its gotten to the point to where these people can come and go here at will and nobody is stopping them. I have heard it said that Bush gave orders to the border patrol to look the other way in the case of illegals crossing the U.S., Mexico border. This from the president who has waged a war on terror. George W. Bush is nothing but a joke and an embrassment to this country. That lady with the Dixie Chicks was right on target when she said what she said about him. As for me, I'm ashame that he is from The United States Of America. "One Love" and Jah Bless.
