Anti-illegal talk sees GOP again shooting itself in foot
Anti-illegal talk sees GOP again shooting itself in foot

There has never been a more self-destructive Republican political campaign than the 1994 reelection drive of former California Gov. Pete Wilson.
But this year’s campaign might even surpass those levels of GOP self immolation.
Wilson’s commercials featured grainy black-and-white film of the San Ysidro border crossing, with illegal immigrants running into California unimpeded by Border Patrol agents or anyone else, and a menacing voice intoning “They keep coming.â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

If you add up the votes cast for the nominally anti illegal immigration candidates they were more than for McCain. The forces against illegal immigration were not wrong there were just too many candidates and not enough education for the voters to detect the fakes like Huckabee.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

That article must of came right from the pages of the GOP playbook.
Republicans run for the hills, ya pissed off the illegals and the legals yet to come. Yea right.
The future will tell another story. As California's social liabilities mount up and more and more of their citizens are forced to flight, it will only take a economic slowdown to point all towards the error of their ways. Then they will beg for a conservitive to come in and fix the problem. The larger the social dependency of the state becomes, the harder it will fall.
I think I read somewhere, that the Hispanics have the largest demographic block in California now. That means those that do try hard to play by the rules, that do not wish to simply hold out their hands for social services will have no choice but to jump up and down, begging for reform measures. Reform that the liberals just will not support.
Between a rock and a hard place, will be found a conservitive.

Look at California, one of if not the richest state in the US yet we're in debt 14 billion and soon will have casinos everywhere to TRY and cover it. Once it finally goes bankrupt and no one can afford college etc and taxes are outrageous it will affect everyone and then no on will have a choice but to open their eyes to the effects of IA.
