Apartment residents get bogus deportation notices

Apartment residents get bogus deportation notices

ARLINGTON -- At least four residents at the Las Lomas Apartments in east Arlington received a letter stating they were identified as illegal immigrants and needed to mail in $95 to avoid deportation.

Left on the residents' doors at least two weeks ago, the letter claimed to be from the U.S. Immigration Citizenship Enforcement Unit, which does not exist.

The letter, which gave a post office box address for the $95, also told the recipients to provide a list of names of all of their relatives who were in the country illegally.

Apartment managers said they believe the bogus letters were sent because of the ongoing national and local debate about illegal immigration. The complex has contacted the Mexican Consulate for assistance.

"We are passing out letters letting them know they don't have to be afraid," said Ruby Valenzuela, assistant manager. "We don't want to lose our residents because of this."

This just proves that if you put a little heat on them, they will leave.

Mexican Counsulate doesn't get called on the behalf of American citizens. Those apartments must be full of illegal aliens. Hello Arlington, you have a problem.

Why would they have to worry if they were here legally?

That totally crossed my mind, I wouldn't put anything past them. Probably trying to conjure up sympathy for these people by implying a Us citizen did it trying to extort money. Hey but remember we can pick and choose which laws we want to follow and what not, oh wait yeah I forgot we're not illegals so if that person was a US citizen or legal resident they'll go directly to jail even if they have kids and it'll seperate the family, create fear of police officers and all that other BS these illegal aliens use as an excuse.

"We are passing out letters letting them know they don't have to be afraid," said Ruby Valenzuela, assistant manager. "We don't want to lose our residents because of this."
It sounds to as if Ruby is afraid of losing MONEY from the rents. I would be curious to see what this apartment complex looks like.

The "We are passing out letters" comment makes it sound as though the management/owers of the complex are aiding people they know are illegally here and even contacting the consulate of the country that these people are citizens of for assistance and protection.

So far, only Kansas City has sovreign Mexican soil thanks to the SSP. The Mexican government has no jurisdiction in Arlington, TX. I think all of these fat cat Mexican politicians and lawyers that are "stationed" in this country should be in their own country trying to make it a better place for it's people, not here helping them loot their neighbor.

The majority of illegals get taken advantage of by their own people. I see it in Miami on a regular basis. Once the illegals trust and rely on certain people then it is easy to scam them just as it is with many elderly people. This is sad but true.
