Arellano Church to Hide Another ILLEGAL

Church were illegal immigrant took sanctuary to host another activist

CHICAGO (AP) - Leaders of a Chicago church where an illegal immigrant took sanctuary for one year say another immigration activist plans to defy a deportation order to Mexico tomorrow (Monday) and live at the church.

Twenty-8-year-old Flor Crisóstomo (Floor Cree-SOS’-to-mo) is slated to report to immigration officials tomorrow.

But she says she’ll live at Chicago’s Adalberto United Methodist Church.

She’s an illegal immigrant from Mexico who was arrested at a workplace raid at a Chicago site of IFCO Systems in 2006.

She claims that U.S. immigration policies need to be fixed and is protesting them by living at the church.

Her message is similar to Elvira Arellano (el-VEE’-ruh ah-ray-AH’-noh). Arellano was an illegal immigrant who lived at the church for a year before she was arrested in Los Angeles and deported last August.

Church where illegal immigrant took sanctuary for a year to host another woman

    CHICAGO

Leaders of a Chicago church where an illegal immigrant from Mexico took sanctuary for a year before being deported say they plan to house another immigration activist who is set on defying a deportation order.

Flor Cris Dostomo, 28, an illegal immigrant who came to the U.S. in 2001, was slated to report to federal immigration officials on Monday, but the head of Adalberto United Methodist Church said she will seek refuge at the church in the same way as immigration activist Elvira Arellano, who was deported to Mexico last August.

"She wanted to continue the struggle," Rev. Walter Coleman said of Cris Dostomo. "That's what the church is for, to provide space where the truth can be told. She brings out the truth of the situation in a different way than Elvira did."

Cris Dostomo's attorney, Chris Bergin, planned to submit a letter to immigration officials Monday, outlining his client's decision to stay in the U.S. illegally.

Cris Dostomo, who declined requests to speak with reporters until Monday, immigrated without papers to Chicago from Oaxaca in Mexico seven years ago. She took a job with IFCO Systems, a manufacturer of crates and pallets, and was arrested during raids on company sites nationwide in 2006.

Her three children, two boys and a girl, live in Mexico with their maternal grandmother; Cris Dostomo is unmarried.

"I am taking a stand of civil disobedience ..." she said in prepared remarks to be read Monday, which were sent to The Associated Press. "I believe with all my heart that the United States and Mexico must end the system of undocumented labor."

Cris Dostomo, who has been an immigration activist in the Chicago area and fasted with Arellano in protest of immigration policies, said she could not support her family if she returned to Mexico.

Immigration activists such as Coleman claim that by living at the church -- apart from her three children -- Cris Dostomo brings attention to how they believe immigration policies in the U.S. need attention.

Activists from the church and the Chicago immigration rights group Centro Sin Fronteras claim that economic situations have deteriorated in Mexico because of NAFTA and other U.S. policies, creating dire situations that cause illegal immigration.

"The current policies are driving people further and further underground," Coleman said. "That's the reason she came in the first place. She's saying that you need to fix the system here."

Gail Montenegro, a spokeswoman for the U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Chicago, declined to comment on Cris Dostomo's specific case.

"ICE officers are sworn to enforce the nation's immigration laws and will do so at appropriate times and places," she said.

Adalberto United Methodist Church, located in the heavily Latino Humboldt Park neighborhood, was home to immigration activist Elvira Arellano, and her U.S. citizen son, Saul, for one year. Arellano left the church last August and was arrested in Los Angeles after giving a speech and deported to Mexico shortly thereafter.

Arellano was initially arrested in 1997 after crossing the border into the United States. She was sent back to Mexico but soon returned. She was arrested again years later and convicted of working as a cleaning woman at O'Hare International Airport under a false Social Security number.

She took refuge at the church in 2006, claiming that if she was deported, her son would also be effectively deported and deprived of his rights as a U.S. citizen. She said her situation illustrated the plight of millions of illegal immigrants.

If living conditions are so bad in Mexico, as the illegals say, why would you come here and leave your children to live in those conditions? They will leave their kids behind in Mexico, yet use breaking up families here as an excuse to stay. I could not for one minute see me not seeing my kids for years, as most of the illegals do. There is an office cleaner at my job (cannot speak a word of English and told my co-worker who speaks Spanish), that she has 4 kids in El Salvador that she hasn't seen for 6 years and hopes to bring them to the US. I guess she's waiting for the next big amnesty.

Utterly amazing . . . I wonder how many US citizens are denied PRIVATE LEGAL REPRESENTATION because they can't afford it? This pond sucking "attorney" should be disbarred and jailed for aiding and abetting and that storefront eyesore masquerading as a church should be demolished. At what point does this insanity end?

The us government breaks up and separates family everyday-sending fathers or mothers to prison-shipping fathers or mothers overseas in the military-taking children away from parents who cannot take care of them or involve them in illegal activity(sound familiar). When I was a kid in the early 1980s illegals atarted coming to nc every season and picking tobacco-they did not bring thier wife or children and returned home after tobacco season and returned the next year.It was not until the 1986 amnesty did I start seeing the whole family come.Mexican mothers have also pleaded with mexican and us authorities to send back thousands of dead beat fathers who escape responsibilities by coming to the US.iLLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS SEPARATING MEXICAN AND OTHER NATIONALITIES FROM FAMILIES IN HOME COUNTRIES.It is bigotted and an insult for these people to say that mexico for example is such a sh-- hole that no one wants to live there. The former head coach got fired for calling a heckler a mexican -guess being a mexican is considered a insult to these people and the liberal media.

This is really not surprising considering the "pastor" of the church is the activist Walter "Slim" Coleman and his wife is Emma Lozano the head of Pueblo Sin Fronteras.

    Blasphemy Hangs On Division Street
    By Rick Biesada

"You know, I've been thrown out of a lot of places, but never a church," I chuckled to my companion, Ted Hayes, on our drive away from the infamous clubhouse / church. The Adalberto United Methodist Church at 2716 West Division Street, in Chicago, where fugative illegal alien, Elvira Arellano is holding up claiming the bogus status of sanctuary.

Ted Hayes, the homeless advocate who built the Dome City in Los Angeles, and founder of the Crispus Attucks Brigade, Minuteman Project, flew into Chicago for a press conference. He had an axe to grind about Elvira Arellano, the criminal fugitive from justice, likening herself to Rosa Parks, an American citizen who sought equal protection of the law when she had been denied justice.

Ted came into town along with Bill Buchanan of the American National Committee for Immigration Reform, out of Washington D.C. and they, along with a couple of our Chicago Minutemen, held a press conference last Friday in regards to the fugitive Elvira Arellano, holding the American people hostage to a feckless, out of control government, who won't enforce our immigration laws.

Ted felt that Elvira was making a mockery out of Rosa Parks good name and righteous cause. Surely, an illegal alien criminal and fugitive from justice could not stand equally to an American citizen who had been denied justice, and Ted wanted to set the record straight.

At the press conference Ted had been introduced to the humble pastor; Walter Slim Coleman, a man with a past history of militant political activism, but these words will never appear in the main stream media.

Coleman who chose the name Slim back in the sixties to pass himself off as an illiterate Hillbilly in the Chicago Uptown Neighborhood, an area populated predominantly by poor Appalachian Whites at the time, whom Slim used for his political base to grab control of the federal model cities money, which was to be dispersed through the city of Chicago, in the form of block grants.

Coleman, a cunning and wily political activist with a college degree from Harvard, is an heir to the multi million dollar Coleman Industries, makers of camping gear, sports equipment, patio furniture and the popular Coleman propane Lantern.Slim didn't waste any time forming alliances with the Black and Hispanic communities, pushing for the election of Chicago's first Black Mayor, Harold Washington.

Coleman hooked up with Rudy Lozano, an activist for immigrant rights. Both men wound up being special advisers to Mayor Washington, whose insidious special order making Chicago a sanctuary city is still carried out today by the incompetent Mayor, Richard Daley, against federal law.

Rudy Lozano, best known for uniting the Mexican and Puerto Rican communities to garner votes, must have stepped on the wrong toes because he was gunned down mob style in his home, executed in his kitchen in front of his infant child.

Rudy's sister Emma picked up the banner of Rudy's organization and has turned it into a money maker for herself and her husband, the beer guzzling, brown stained toothed pastor, Slim Coleman. Emma is president of Pueblo Sin Fronteras, (people without borders) an illegal alien rights group affiliated with the Socialist Workers Movement.
In my opinion, their store front church operation is nothing more than a club house front for the Latin Kings Street Gang, and other thugs using it to launder money, or to engage in illicit activities, such as, intimidation, extortion, providing information to obtain fraudulent documents, and training to engage in gaming our system to steal tax payer funds meant for law -abiding American's in distress... or for their retirement.
Keeping this in mind, Ted Hayes and I went to the church last Sunday to attend services.

I picked up Ted from his motel room early, then went for breakfast to kill some time before the 10 o’clock AM service.

In the restaurant Ted mentioned that he had a couple of death threats the preceding evening.

I asked him who besides me, and a couple of loyalists, had his phone number, and he said, "Pastor Slim Coleman."

"Tell me about it, this punk is a common street thug, leading a band of domestic terrorists, and he should be locked up for harboring a fugitive illegal alien, as our laws demand.

When we arrived at the church there was a note on the window amongst the clutter of advertisements for a Latino radio station, neighborhood announcements, and a copy of a letter addressed to President Bush, seeking executive clemency for Elvira Arellano, by the treasonous Congressman, Luis Gutierrez.

The note read that services would be pushed up to noon today, probably to discourage Ted and I from attending services.

Mr. Wang, a Chicago Tribune photographer joined us reading the note and had related to us that he was told to be here at 10 AM also, just as a van came screeching to the curb and out jumped a lady screaming at us, spewing venom as if she had gonorrhea of the throat.

"You're not going in there, you're not coming into our church. I'm Pastor Betty Gavella, I'm giving the sermon today and you're not welcome here... get away from here, you can't come into our church."

"Hold on Pastor, Ted Calmly responded, surely as a preacher of the Lord you are open to a logical discussion, are you not?

"Yeah... you're not coming into the church, you guys are racists, you're Minutemen, you spread hate and you're not welcome here, Pastor Betty bellowed.

"Pastor, you're the person who sounds like a racist," I sneered.

This scruffy looking pastor shot me a scornful look, then spat at Ted Hayes," what are you doing with him, that Anglo, he'd stab you in the back when you're not looking, you should be with us, people of dark skin. This is our country! North America is our land! This is our continent, this is Mexico, his people invaded us now we will deport them back to Europe. We have just registered over 100,000 new voters and we are going to change the laws and deport the Anglo's back to Europe. They came here and took our land, now we are going to get rid of them. We will deport them first and kick them off of our land, you're not welcome here in our land, or in our church, neither of you racists, so go away... get out of here.
Don't let these racist's into the church," she summoned a crew of goon bangers hanging around the entrance way, reiterating about not letting us into the... ah... er... church.

Ted went on giving an articulate speech in front of the clubhouse / church. A crowd of people gathered and listened intently as Ted explained the original intent of the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution, and what the 1848 Treaty of Hidalgo Guadalupe meant, as more people crowded around Ted Hayes to listen to logic instead of lies and rhetoric.

The crowd was becoming mesmerized listening to Ted explain that Elvira Arellano could be a Rosa Parks down in Mexico. That he would stand at her side, and fight for her cause, championing the people of Mexico to take back their corrupt government down in Mexico, where their problems lie... not here in the United States.

That's when the church leaders sent out a group of gang bangers to harass us, making noise, banging on drums and shouting obscenities in front of the "House of The Lord."

At noon the doors swung open and out stepped the blasphemous preacher, Slim Coleman, welcoming his parishioners, but barring us from worship.

We hung around the front for about an hour to let them know that we wouldn't be intimidated, making them think that they had "won."

Well, had I known this was going to be a pagan service, I probably wouldn't have attempted to go, but a Minuteman in need is a true friend indeed, and it was my pleasure to spend the day with a real American patriot; Mr. Ted Hayes.

Look him up www.uscab.org and support his cause... it is our cause... the preservation of the United States of America. A government of, by, and for the people... anything less would be unlawful.

Here is a link to the La Raza article about her. I was a mere few feet away from Emma Lozano when she spoke at our council meeting about 287g. I found her to be demanding, aggressive, overbearing, rude, dour, etc... Oh, but she had a nice black suit on.

    http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-100239.html

I ahhh, missed going to her meeting in town. Appears she was in Waukegan to announce her plans. The La Raza actually says it was a 'sparse' crowd and only 20 showed up. Seems like she won't get as much press as Elvira. Been there, done that.

    from article;

But that final decision might have been announced already in Waukegan last week during the night of Thursday, January 17, when she called a meeting with the people who accompanied her in protest campaign and boycott against the city government, which plans to certify its police officers under Federal Program 287 (g).

The meeting took place in the First Baptist Church at six o’clock in the evening, with no more than 20 people present. La Raza was the only communications medium represented. Flor was accompanied by Emma Lozano, Executive Director of the Centro Sin Fronteras.

Since when can churches now be used as safe havens to thwart and undermine the letter of the law.

These illegal criminals are making a mokery of our judicial/immigration system and it needs to astop immediately.

They need to go in that church and physically remove this criminal and deport her/him as ordered. It will only take one time of physically removing one of these scoflaws from a church to put in end to this garbage of hiding out in churches.
