Ariz. House votes to check candidates' citizenship

PHOENIX— The Arizona House has approved a bill that would require President Barack Obama to show his birth certificate if he hopes to be on the state's ballot for a re-election bid.

The House approved the measure on a 31-29 vote, sending it to the Senate.

It would require U.S. presidential candidates who want to appear on the ballot in Arizona to submit documents proving they meet the constitutional requirements to be president.

Supporters say the bill would help settle a controversy over whether Obama was born in the United States.

Opponents say it's a waste of time that makes Arizona mocked by the rest of the country. Obama has released his Hawaii birth certificate proving he's a "natural-born citizen" qualified to be president.

I personally don't know what to think about the whole birth certificate thing.

The part of the article that I found interesting was the difference in the wording of the two submissions to the states.

I have no respect for any candidate, Obama or otherwise, who wants to play games on their eligibility to be President of the United States. If the people, any people, 1 person or 1,000 or 200 million want to see the birth file of a candidate for President, then either that candidate requests the release of all state birth records, every note, every document, every affidavit, everything ... or they can't be President. Period.

It was never intended that foreign born children or children of foreign nationals become President of the United States. Natural born citizen doesn't mean just born on US soil, it means born on US soil to 2 US citizens.

and before anyone asks about where mc cain was born,
while he was born in the country of Panama, he was born in the Canal Zone and since that was US territory, he was deemed okay to run.

However, the same can not be said of obama. he was not vetted
