Arizona Congress members unite to push for border securityBy Evan Brown

For Arizona, nothing unites our U.S. representatives like immigration, as evidenced by the letter sent to President George W. Bush by six of the eight Arizonan Congress members yesterday.

"We are deeply concerned about the anticipated termination of Operation Jump Start, which will result in the removal of nearly 3000 National Guardsmen from our southern border," read the letter, which was signed by Reps. Rick Renzi (R-1), Trent Franks (R-2), John Shadegg (R-3), Harry Mitchell (D-5), Jeff Flake (R-6) and Gabrielle Giffords (D-8 ).

Operation Jump Start was an effort, instituted in 2006, to try to stem the tide of illegal immigrants crossing into the U.S. along the Southern Arizona border by stationing National Guard troops there by the thousands.

The letter further read:

"We fear the combined effect of a delay in virtual fencing and a further drawdown of National Guard along the border will make matters even worse. Last year more than 380,000 apprehensions were made in the Tucson Sector of the border. Should the announced drawdown occur, Arizonans, and all Americans, will face an increased risk of drugs, crime, and violence resulting from illegal immigration."
The legislators claim the program has helped reduce the flow of undocumented workers moving to Arizona from Mexico, and has increased apprehensions of illegal drugs and vehicles being transported across the border.

Noticeably absent as signatories to the letter were Reps. Ed Pastor (D-4) and Raul Grijalva (D-7), the two Latino member of the Arizona delegation. Both Pastor and Grijalva have continuously opposed any moves they perceive as unduly limiting the rights of immigrants, and the pair typically receive 0-10 percent ratings from anti-illegal immigration groups, according to Project Vote Smart.

Democrats intentionally obstruct SAVE ACT (H.R.408posted by Brittanicus

Who is paying for the overcrowded schools, subsidized housing, food stamps, baby delivery and all the billions of dollars in free health care. That is just a small portion of the billions of dollars skimmed off taxpayer dollars to pay for the welfare of predator businesses.

Why do you think that other states have enacted their own immigration employer sanction laws. Because those states that include Arizona, Oklahoma, Georgia and Rhode Island have had enough of taxpayers underwriting pariah employers profits. They gain, you lose...?

All the Sanctuary Cities better watch out...? Because now that Arizona, Oklahoma, Georgia and Rhode Island have enacted their own Immigration laws. The thousands that are leaving these swamped states must be going somewhere...? LOS ANGELES? They have Special Order 40, a haven for violent gangs of animals.

San Francisco? Salt Lake City or even Denver, Colorado. Is your community a SANCTUARY CITY, that lets the illegal immigration hordes feed from the welfare trough?

We know now that the majority of Democrats are INTENTIONALLY STOPPING the federal SAVE ACT (H.R. 408 because they are waiting for the new president to sign another AMNESTY. For taxpayers it would be a nationwide catastrophe. NUMBERSUSA.
