A mass departure of the undocumented foreigners would eliminate 581,000 jobs in Arizona and tax receipts would drop by 10.1 percent, according to the report by the Center for American Progress and the Immigration Policy Center.
Really? I see it as 581,000 job openings for LEGAL immigrants and US citizens. What a concept, huh?

Billion$ would be saved in welfare, education, medical, and other handouts subsidized by taxpayers.

Must be some new fuzzy math they're looking at.

Its funny how they talk about how much money a state will loose by not going with the status quoe but they never talk about how much I.a.'s really cost a state in education, health care, state aid ! I feel if these lefties had a real point to make they'd let az do what it wants to help make their point. It seems their afraid the state of az might have a point and won't give them the opertunity to prove it!

Dr. Raul Hinojosa-Ojeda, co-author of the study entitled "The Economic Impact of Legalization Versus Deportation in Arizona," said at a press conference that the state is an example of the "toxic" effect that laws like SB1070 can come to have.
Dr. Raul Hinojosa-Ojeda? Do you think this study might be just a little skewed, not to mention partial, in favor of la raza? Once again, the implication is that no American would be willing to do the jobs illegal invaders are doing - and if deported - no American living in Arizona would fill those jobs.

I wonder if Dr. Raul Hinojosa-Ojeda took into consideration the impact that putting a previously unemployed American citizen back to work would have on the local economy, since it's difficult for unemployed people to pay taxes and purchase goods without jobs.

I'm not even going to go into the social and entitlement costs that half a million illegal invaders would have on the state. The number must be staggering. Yet Dr. Raul Hinojosa-Ojeda would have you focus on the sales tax that would be lost when illegal invaders are deported.

Bottom line, if you're an illegal invader you don't belong here and you need to get out since you're here in violation of our laws. I bet Dr. Raul Hinojosa-Ojeda didn't even consider that fact before launching his study.

In this case, the number of jobs would rise by 7.7 percent, creating 261,000 new employment positions, and $5.6 billion would be injected into the economy in wages and salaries.
Sure...and how many of those jobs would require the applicant to habla spanish?

Additional state saving will be if you remove the illegals you open jobs up for LEGAL AMERICANS That will reduce the unemployement payouts. Add to the not paying for educating, feeding, housing, employing and free medical the illegals are getting it should be a no brainer that EVERY state is better off without illegals and anchor brats.

Arizona's economy would lose $48.8 billion if the state expels all undocumented immigrants living there, according to a report made public Thursday.

A mass departure of the undocumented foreigners would eliminate 581,000 jobs in Arizona and tax receipts would drop by 10.1 percent,
Meanwhile, the report also analyzed the economic impact that the legalization of undocumented people living in Arizona would have, based on the results of the federal amnesty of 1986.

In this case, the number of jobs would rise by 7.7 percent, creating 261,000 new employment positions, and $5.6 billion would be injected into the economy in wages and salaries.

In addition, state tax revenues would also rise by $1.07 billion.
