Arpaio: Immigration law will be enforced

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he will start enforcing the state’s new immigration law the minute it goes into effect next month.
The new law gives police more authority to question and detain people they suspect of being illegal immigrants. It is slated to go into effect July 29 though could be delayed by court challenges.
“When this law takes effect on July 29 I will immediately conduct an operation where deputies will use the new law as another tool for them to enforce illegal immigration law.
