    Arpaio Launches 'Operation Desert Sky' To Battle Smugglers


    (Phoenix, AZ - March 29, 2011) Sheriff Joe Arpaio today announced 'Operation Desert Sky' - a large-scale offensive using 30 'Posse Pilots' and aircraft as spotters, combined with a ground SWAT team with M-16s and the Sheriff's 50-caliber machine gun. The objective is to effectively cut off drug and human smugglers entering the SW and SE desert corridors of Maricopa County from Mexico across the Arizona desert. This is in response to continued activity from those smugglers, despite claims by DHS and other Federal officials of reduced activity. The Sheriff says he has not noticed any reduced activity of smuggling" in his county.

    Thats what i like about JOE he dont care and not afraid to use whatever it takes to get the job done.Wish JOE was for hire we could just pay him to go from state to state and clean em up.Id be glad to help him.GO JOE GO!!!!!!!

    Gotta love sheriff Joe. (unless your a drug smuggler or illegal). If his group rounds up a large number of illegals or stops a large amount of drugs coming in then its a big ol-cowpie in the face of Homeland Security.

    Every City and County need a Sheriff the same as Sheriff Joe. He is a wonderful person!!
