Danbury man hits 2 parked cars, charged with DUI

DANBURY -- A city resident was charged Sunday with driving under the influence after his vehicle allegedly struck two parked cars, according to Danbury police.

Police said Luis Galarca, 36, of Moss Avenue, was taken into custody after his westbound vehicle allegedly struck two parked vehicles on Osborne Street, damaging one on the left rear side and the front end of the other.

According to police, when officers arrived at 11 p.m., there were individuals arguing with the driver, presumably the owners of the two vehicles.

Police said the officers detected the odor of alcohol on the driver and charged him with DUI and making an improper turn.

Galarca was issued a $1,500 bond and is still being held because of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer, police said.
