PHOENIX -

An arrest warrant has been issued for a California man who allegedly threatened to kill Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

A warrant was issued for Caesar David Nunez, 22, of Culver City following an investigation by sheriff's detectives and El Segundo Police.

On April 24, Nunez stated, "I want to personally blow Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's head off," according to MCSO.

Nunez allegedly admitted to making the threat, saying it stemmed from the sheriff's stance on illegal immigration.

Sheriff Arpaio has received numerous threats during his time in office. Every death threat is thoroughly investigated to determine its veracity.
