NOGALES/TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials confirm that at 1:40 a.m. on Friday, three men told officers that they had warrants for their arrest and were turning themselves in.

Orel Vasquez, 20, Christian Vasquez, 26 and Juan Carlos Leon, 29 are Mexican citizens and were not able to present officers with documents to enter the United States, but officers were able to run their names through a database and discovered that all three men were wanted for murder charges in Pima County.

The Tucson Police Department confirmed that the three men are wanted for the murder of Brenda Arenas, 15. Arenas was killed on August 5, 2009 in the south side of Tucson ten days before her Quincinera. Tucson Police say that a group of men with guns invaded a home and then tried to carjack Brenda and her family. Instead, they shot and killed Arenas.

Not only did Tucson Police detectives work nonstop on the murder investigation, America's Most Wanted also picked up the case. The manhunt for the suspects moved to the tiny Mexican town of Magdelena de Kino where police believe the three suspects had fled. Months passed and still no sign of the accused cold blooded killers.

It's not clear why the three suspects turned themselves in, but authorities say they had been in Mexico.
