Del Rio, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents made significant apprehensions and seizures this week, including narcotics, currency and a convicted criminal alien.Friday, Aug. 3, Eagle Pass South station agents arrested Carlos Castillo-Alvarado, 38, an undocumented immigrant from Honduras. (more)

Lukeville, Ariz. - A Scottsdale, Ariz. man and woman were arrested Wednesday for allegedly attempting to smuggle nearly 47 pounds of marijuana into the U.S. through the Lukeville, Ariz. Port. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested Kent Edward Raley, 60, and his passenger, Robyn Michelle Mayhan, 45. (more)

Laredo, Texas - Border Patrol Agents assigned to the north station in Laredo, Texas apprehended 39 illegal immigrants Wednesday night.Agents working at the immigration checkpoint located on Interstate Highway 35 north of Laredo discovered the group in the trailer of an 18-wheeler after a Border Patrol canine alerted toward the vehicle. Arizona CBP Officers Seize Meth Taped to Mens' Midsection

San Luis, Ariz. - Two Mexican nationals were arrested early Wednesday for attempting to smuggle more than six pounds of methamphetamine, worth close to $99,000, into the U.S. through the San Luis, Ariz. land port. Francisco Javier Ibarra Green, 31, traveling with Carlos Garcia Vasquez, 30, and Vasquez's wife and minor child, were referred for a secondary inspection of his Ford truck. (more)
Felon Apprehended by Border Patrol Sentenced to Prison

Tuscon, Ariz. - A 41-year-old man from San Luis Potosi, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, apprehended by Casa Grande, Ariz. Border Patrol agents in February, was sentenced in July to 33 months of confinement. The U.S. Attorney's Office prosecuted Felipe De Jesus Gonzalez-Rocha after his apprehension for attempting to illegally re-enter the United States as an aggravated felon after deportation. (more)

CBP Detroit Donates Seized Fossils to University of Michigan

Detroit - U.S. Customs and Border Protection in the Port of Detroit announced the donation of hundreds of seized pre-historic fossils to the University of Michigan. A CBP officer working at a primary lane of the Ambassador Bridge on March 28, 2011, encountered two Canadian citizens who claimed they were attending a fossil trade show in Illinois. (more)
