Sheriff Arpaio: ‘So what?’ on Perry
By Alicia M. Cohn - 11/29/11 06:03 PM ET
Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio defended Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Tuesday for his stance on illegal immigration, responding to a question on Perry's support of extending in-state tuition breaks with "so what?"
Arpaio is well-known for his tough stance and controversial methods addressing illegal immigration. His endorsement of Perry, and subsequent campaign stumping, provide a strong boost for Perry's immigration stance. Perry has been attacked by many of his fellow GOP candidates as "soft" on immigration due to his support as governor of extending in-state tuition breaks to undocumented students who have graduated from Texas high schools.

This was shocking and upsetting to read, it reminds me of when Lou Dobbs flipped his stance on illegal immigration. Arpaio was always a hero of mine, now he is just another sell out IMO.

the next time many of our supporters get an email asking for campaign donations from Joe Arpaio, many will be saying "so what" to Joe Arpaio.

Now that Joe has revealed himself to be an amnesty man I am wondering if he would be willing to give amnesty to other groups of people? How about giving back all the money collected for parking and moving violations in the last 25 years? Surely if Joe Arpaio can forgive the illegals he should be willing to forgive his fellow citizens for the tickets they got? But if not how come?
