Atlantic restuarant closes after arrest of illegal immigrants
ATLANTIC, Iowa An Atlantic restaurant has closed after a raid that led to the arrests of five illegal immigrants.
Officials with the U-S Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested three illegal immigrants at the China Garden restaurant in Atlantic and two illegal immigrants at the Panda Gardens restaurant in Harlan.
Immigration officials say two of the immigrants were from China and three were from Mexico.
As a result of the operations conducted last week, public health officials inspected the China Garden restaurant and subsequently closed it for a variety of violations.
I-C-E spokesman Tim Counts says all five illegal immigrants were charged with being in the country illegally. He says a hearing will be scheduled in the next few weeks to determine if they would be deported. The names of the people arrested were not released.

I notice a lot less business at Mexican resturants.

I knew there was a reason I didn't want to eat Chinese food anyway. What's wrong with good ole American food -- roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy and a veggie?
I've gotten really fussy about where I eat anymore. Living in the Colorado mountains, with easy access to Denver means I can get real Mexican cooking -- but, it's getting scary to go down there and be a "grino" anymore.

I agree with the type of people I now see handling the food at many restaurants, I do not eat out often anymore and am very selective of where I do eat out. Lots more home cooking now these days, we eat better and it saves cash now that eveything else costs so much more.
Freedom isn't free... Don't forget the men who died and gave that right to all of us....
