BROOKS COUNTY - Authorities in Brooks County say they still need help finding a girl who has been missing for 17-days.
12-year old Kimberly Escobar Orellana of El Savador was last seen on August 8th walking along County Road 281 near the Falfurrias check point.
The Brooks County Sheriff says the girl is an undocumented immigrant and was traveling with other illegal immigrants who were headed to Houston. The group left her behind because she couldn't walk anymore. If you have any information about the girl call 1-800-346-3243.

Kimberly Escobar Orellana: Illegal Child Immigrant Missing

Kimberly Escobar Orellana vanished from the Corpus Christi area for over 17 days now. The 12-year-old girl disappeared while traveling with illegal immigrants who were traveling to Houston, Texas. There aren't many details available in this case, but it's evident that this is a case of what goes wrong with illegalimmigration.
The search for the 12-year-old missing girl doesn't appear to be as intense as it'd be for a legal citizen of the U.S., and that's a shame. This is a child who was abandoned by the group she was traveling with because she wasn't able to walk anymore.
She was left behind in Brooks County, and it's currently being disputed whether or not her own mother was a part of the group of immigrants who abandoned the child.
If you're in the Corpus area and you see Kimberly Escobar Orellana, please contact the authorities. However, it's been 17 days, so it's unlikely that she's even alive. She was left alone to her own devices in an area where she was most likely preyed upon by predators. With there being no sightings of this girl the hope is less than slim.

Whether the Mother was a part of the group or just staying at home in her own country, why was this child travelling here and then left behind? A lot of children decide to travel on their own because they are not wantd at home. I don't know if that was the case with this child or not. In any case, it is a shame.
