Border troops only awaiting Obama’s OK

WASHINGTON — The Defense Department and Department of Homeland Security are finalizing plans to station National Guard troops along the Mexican border, most likely as backup support to local law enforcement personnel in Texas and other border states.

Four border-state governors, including Texas’ Rick Perry, have provided input, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told reporters Tuesday.

The final decision on whether to implement the plans is in the hands of White House officials, she said.

Napolitano said that the White House decision-making process “is not by any stretch finalâ€

In a "support" capacity huh?

So basically, it will be just the same as last time.....troops on the border with their hands tied.

I wonder, will they at least be able to return fire when the cartels and Mexican military open up on them?

Duties include helping to staff checkpoints targeting vehicles suspected of ferrying firearms or cash drug proceeds from the United States into Mexico.

I guess NG assistance isn't needed to stop illegal immigration. Oh, that's right, we're no longer concerned about illegal immigration, just guns and drug money.

I say place the United State Marines and U.S. Army along the border with full body armor and assualt vehicles with orders to apprehend all illegals crossing the border. Once the illegals are caught they should immediately be escorted to a tent city prison manned by U.S. Army personnel. First time offender should receive an automatic six month sentence in one of the tent city prisons.

And I suppose after reading the Janet PC article here that she will put them on the Canada border as well when they could do so much more on our violence ridden southern border....

I agree. That just not good enough. They should be armed and ready to stop the drug cartels, smugglers, and all people trying to cross over into our country illegally. In other words, protect America at all costs.

Just more b.s. from this b.s. administration to fool naive Americans into believing this administration will secure the border so they can ram illegal alien amnesty down our throats and up our asses. Their agenda is to maintain the status quo of aiding and abetting thousands of cheap laborers and new voters in crossing the wide open joke of a border every week per their LaRaza, LULAC, MALDEF, Mexican government, drug cartel, union and UN masters while states as Mexifornia go belly up financially. Troops will be unarmed just as they were during the previous deployment when they were forced to flee from armed smugglers leaving their assigned sector wide open. We need to educate the American people of this sham about to be perpetrated by this sham of an administration for political expediency. If Obama is so concerned about border security and interior enforcement as he claims he is, why did he eliminate SCAAP funding (this was opposed even by fellow liberals as Feinstein) in effect allowing thousands of violent criminal illegal alien felons to be returned to the streets? This illustrates that the ACLU is running the DOD and Justice Departments.

In the four months they have been in office this administration has screwed the American people so far up the hooch we will be suffering from inflamed hemorrhoids for at least the next 4 years if not longer. If Obama were really serious about securing the border as he claims he is, one of his first acts after taking the oath of office would have been the deployment of 50,000 fully armed troops who would have sealed the border so that even a gnat couldn't squeeze through.

Obama absolutely has no intention of securing the border because it would result in the shut off of cheap labor and more votes. They don't give a horse's ass about the safety, well being and security of the American people; viewing the deaths of Americans as acceptable consequences of open borders, free trade, cheap labor and votes.
William, please use all the resources at your disposal to educate the American people of this fraud. I don't trust this corrupt union, Mexican government and drug cartel loving administration as far as I can throw them and NEVER will. They will be our undoing.
