    Agents rescue 3 illegal aliens

U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Yuma Sector's Wellton Station rescued an illegal alien who was severely dehydrated Thursday near Tacna.

According to Agent Shaun Kuzia, a spokesman for the Yuma Sector, agents detected the entry of a group of illegal aliens about 15 miles south of Tacna at about 3 a.m.

"Agents were tracking these guys for about nine hours," Kuzia said. "They had probably entered the country the day before."

Kuzia said agents tracked the group across Interstate 8 and apprehended three of the illegal aliens at the Tacna Motel.

"They might have been waiting there to be picked up, or maybe even try and jump the train," Kuzia said.

During questioning, Kuzia said, the group told agents they had illegally entered the United States with three other people, but they had split up prior to being apprehended.

Kuzia said the group illegally entered the country about 35 miles east of San Luis and west of the Gila Mountains.

With help from Customs and Border Protection Office of Air and Marine and the Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue (BORSTAR) team, Kuzia said agents located two of the remaining three illegal aliens a short time later.

"They were able to let us know about where they had split up with the other three," Kuzia said.

Kuzia said the two illegal aliens they initially found told agents that there was still another person in physical distress who was left behind.

Agents continued to search for the remaining person, Kuzia said, and later found him lying under a tree displaying signs of heat exhaustion and dehydration.

Kuzia said BORSTAR agents, who are fully trained and licensed emergency medical technicians, rendered first aid to stabilize the man.

BORSTAR agents determined that advanced medical assistance was required and contacted Rural/Metro, which later arrived on scene to transport the man to the Yuma Regional Medical Center, according to Kuzia.

All six illegal aliens were transported to the Wellton Border Patrol Station and were processed for removal.

We should stablize the people and RETURN them to Mexico for further medical treatment. Other than stabilization NO MEDICAL treatment should be rendered in the US. They should be returned to Mexico for all follow-up treatment.
