A man wanted for attempted murder was arrested Thursday by Border Patrol agents from the Yuma sector.

The man, who had been hiding from U.S. authorities in Mexico, was encountered by agents at 6 a.m. after making an illegal entry into the U.S. near the Colorado River in Yuma.

During questioning, the man admitted to having an outstanding warrant and a significant criminal history as well as being affiliated with a California street gang.
