AZ: Border Patrol to devote more agents to I-19 checkpoint..

Border Patrol to devote more agents to I-19 checkpoint near Tubac

    Tucson, Arizona | Published: 06.05.2007
The U.S. Border Patrol has agreed to devote more agents and technology to the area surrounding a checkpoint on Interstate 19 north of Tubac in response to a request from Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz.
The agency has assigned three agents per shift to patrol the Tubac area, four agents per shift to patrol the area north of the checkpoint at kilometer post 42, and 11 agents on horseback to patrol the areas flanking the checkpoint, said Gustavo Soto, Border Patrol Tucson Sector spokesman.
Officials have also placed ground sensors, sky watch towers equipped with day and nighttime cameras, and ground surveillance radar units, which are mobile platforms mounted in the back of Border Patrol trucks. The additional resources were allocated within days of the Giffords’ May 14 letter, Soto said.
In that letter to Border Patrol chief David Aguilar, Giffords requested Border Patrol send more agents and technology to the Tubac area in response to concerns from residents about increased violence as smugglers travel through outlying neighborhoods to get around the checkpoint. She also requested the checkpoint be moved from its current location. That has not happened.
The checkpoint has been located at kilometer post 42 since November. The agency used to toggle its I-19 checkpoint between that location and one south of Tubac at kilometer post 25 every seven to 14 days.

    because

    because

    Big Business loves cheap labor
    Congress sleeps with big business
    Congress loves cheap labor

don't forget, we don't live in a democracy, the Electoral College is designed to keep you and your vote separated from any worthwhile endeavors.

Congress doesn't work for us, they work for who puts them in office, i.e. big business. If John Q. Public was capable of "buying" Congressmen like this, we would have 1 wall and 0 illegals.

Too bad they don't teach this in 7th grade civics, where it belongs.
