Border Patrol wrapup: Sex offender arrested

A summary of Border Patrol activities in the Tucson Sector over the past 24 hours, provided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection:

Arrests

Douglas agents apprehended a 32-year-old Mexican national Tuesday for entering the United States illegally. A background check revealed he had previous convictions for sex with a minor and driving under the influence in California, and a previous removal. The man was being prosecuted for re-entry of an aggravated felon.

Willcox agents apprehended a 27-year-old Mexican national Tuesday for illegal entry. A background check revealed he had a conviction for attempted cocaine trafficking in North Carolina and prior removal. He was being held for criminal prosecution.

Rescues

Casa Grande agents found an illegal immigrant suffering from dehydration while patrolling east of Interstate 19 on Tuesday night. The 33-year-old man from Sinaloa, Mexico, was taken to a medical clinic for treatment, was released and awaiting processing for removal.
