YUMA, Ariz. (AP) -- More than half a ton of marijuana has been seized and two people arrested near San Luis.

A helicopter team assisting the Border Patrol spotted a disabled pickup last night in a desert area.

Upon landing, the pilot and observer found 65 bundles of marijuana in the bed of the pickup, covered by a blanket.

They also spotted footprints leading away from the vehicle, and that led to the arrest of two people who were found about 75 yards away.

Authorities say the 12-hundred pounds of pot had a street value of close to one million dollars.
