Pinal County authorities said on Wednesday that three cars deputies pulled over on Satruday were full of illegal immigrants.

Deputies pulled a caravan over late Saturday night on suspicion of speeding. When the three cars stopped, several of the people inside took off running into the desert, deputies said.

In all, deputies said they caught 12 people, including a woman and her 10-year-old daughter, were captured. According to officials, all of them admitted to being in the country illegally. Deputies said at least four more ran into the desert and have not been found.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Department turned over all 12 to U.S. Border Patrol agents for processing.
