Almost 30 pounds of cocaine were found inside the gas tank of a pickup truck about 40 miles south of Tucson after it crossed the Mexican border on Thursday morning, officials said.

Siblings Alfredo and Dinoran Cazares-Perez, ages 41 and 35, both of Nogales, were arrested after a highway patrol officer stopped their GMC pickup for a traffic violation at about 6 a.m. on northbound Interstate 19 near Aravaca Road, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said on Monday.

A canine-assisted search found several packages of cocaine in the tank, weighing 29.3 pounds and estimated to be worth about $372,400, the department said.

The pickup was said to have crossed the border about thirty minutes before it was pulled over.

Both of the siblings were booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of possession and transportation of narcotic drugs for sale.
