AZ-Group appeals ruling upholding voter ID law
Group appeals ruling upholding voter ID law
September 16th, 2008 @ 1:02pm
A civil rights group is appealing a judge's ruling upholding Arizona's requirement that people prove citizenship when they register to vote and show identification to cast ballots at polling places.
The appeal by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund comes after last month's ruling by U.S. District Roslyn Silver.
The judge had ruled the law, approved by voters in 2004 as part of a law that denied some government benefits to illegal immigrants, ensures the accuracy of voting rolls and doesn't pose an excessive burden on voters.
The groups challenging the law contend the rules put unfair barriers between citizens and the constitutional right to vote.

WHAAT! What unfair barriers? As a citizen, my elderly mother has not been able to drive, but each state issues a photo ID which is accepted as proof once citizenship has been verified prior to showing that ID at the polling place, along with voter registration card. The groups challenging the law contend the rules put unfair barriers between citizens and the constitutional right to vote.
And for those screaming that many cannot afford the fee for photo ID, I squarely lay the blame on those pro-illegal folks (including the administration) who have caused the loss of so many American jobs for that enticing cheap foreign labor. Not to mention outsourcing, banks doing everything possible to earn large profits, etc., etc., etc.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

<YAWNS> Do these people NOT have anything better to do than interfere in the laws and processes of this country so that illegal aliens can continue to INFLICT their presence and propensity for fraud...such as illegally voting....upon us all?
I should think they would be more helpful to use their time, energy and resources assisting these people in correcting all that is wrong in their home countries, for Pete's sake.
And as one of the taxpayers funding these morons whether I like it or not, I would much rather see MY money put toward keeping these folks in their own damned countries where they belong so I'm not spending even more of MY money for them to stay here

Have they forgotten the Supreme Court has already ruled on this issue????!! They might as well yell, "WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO CHEAT!"
Also they are wasting their time because the individual citizen has no federal constitutional right to vote for electors for the President of the United States. People have assumed this all along but it's simply not true.

We voted on this 4 years ago. Who can't get a state ID in 4 years? Also, for some reason they can bring their cell phone bill and their Bank of Mexico, I mean Bank of America statement to "prove" they are citizens. What is the problem?
