Records: Tucson dad shook infant daughter who later died
Megan Neighbor, Arizona Daily Star | Posted: Tuesday, March 30, 2010 8:35 am

A Tucson man arrested two weeks ago in connection with the death of his 2-month-old daughter admitted to shaking the baby, court records show.

On March 19, paramedics found Tayma Ramos, daughter of Manuel Ramos-Garate, in respiratory arrest at a home in the 200 block of East Fort Lowell Road, said Sgt. Diana Lopez, spokeswoman for the Tucson Police Department.

The interim complaint filed by Tucson police states Ramos-Garate said he shook the girl because he was upset and hungry, and the baby was crying.

The child died later that night at a hospital, records indicate.

Ramos-Garate was being held without bond in the Pima County jail on one count each of child abuse and first-degree murder, Lopez said.

Ramos-Garate told authorities he was a landscaper who had lived in the U.S. illegally for a year.

He is the father of three children, records indicate.

I wrote this reporter after the first report because she didn't include that he was an illegal alien. By looking up the jail record, I could tell because he was held without bond. Only illegal aliens or parolees are held without bond and he had no prior record. Fortunately she listed it in the follow-up story.

What a worthless scumbag! Was he was expecting a 2-month old to serve him his dinner?!?!?!

There are some people who should never have children, they come from all walks of life.

What people miss is that when someone is struggling terribly, and at bottom of the ladder, as with people who are working for slave labor wages, and possibly were already unable to cope with a child, this compounds their inability and we tend to see them snap.

As well, I have noticed, with subsequent generations, there is a sense of entitlement (a sure sign of a corrupted society and/or upbringing which was dysfunctional) and inmaturity that has brought on more terrible situations like this.

Our own society needs to start bringing back personal responsibility to our children, this is an element that is lacking all too much here and abroad.
