Hillary Clinton now says she opposes licenses for illegals

If nothing else, Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s decision to reverse his driver’s license policy got Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to announce a firm stand on the issue. She opposes giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.

Clinton, who has struggled with the issue since being asked about it in a debate earlier this month, issued a statement this afternoon expressing support for Spitzer’s decision and declaring her opposition to the policy.

Clinton Now Against Licenses for Illegal Immigrants

Senator Hillary Clinton has come out firmly against giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, one day before a debate against her fellow Democrats, who have put her on the defensive on the issue.
