AZ-SHERIFF ARPAIO:PROTESTORS DID NOT DETER HIM

    1
    Date: March 22, 2010
SHERIFF ARPAIO STATES THAT PROTESTORS IN
WASHINGTON DID NOT DETER HIM FROM ANOTHER
    SUCCESSFUL CRIME SUPPRESSION OPERATION

Will Enforce Immigration Laws until Federal Government Changes Policies
(Phoenix, AZ) This past weekend while immigration activists headed to Washington D.C. to demand
immigration reform from the White House and Congress, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s
office was busy arresting 111 suspects during a two-day crime suppression operation that focused on
human smuggling of illegal aliens and drug trafficking.
Of the 111 arrested, the Sheriff confirmed that 78 were suspected of being in the country illegally
and 57 of the illegal aliens were arrested for human smuggling violations. The operation also
involved two large drug seizures of over 900 lbs of marijuana and five pounds of methamphetamines
    by illegal aliens.
The Sheriff says that the results of his 14th crime suppression operation are evidence that drug
trafficking and illegal immigration are related and contribute to the violence at the U.S.-Mexico
    border.
Sheriff Arpaio stated that unless the federal government initiates policy changes on immigration law,
he will continue to be out in full force with future crime suppression and other illegal immigration
operations focused on crimes associated with illegal aliens.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is also in the process of training nearly 900 sworn deputies in
the detection and arrest of illegal aliens following the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s
decision to remove 100 federally trained deputies’ ability to act as Immigration and Customs
    Enforcement (ICE) agents.
Over 37,000 illegal aliens have been arrested, investigated, or detained by the Maricopa County
Sheriff’s Office since embarking on that program. Since losing their authority to act as ICE agents,
deputies have continued to arrest illegal aliens at an even higher rate.

That's because Sheriff Joe knows how powerful he is in his county.

Pass this around to your local Sheriff's Office.
