Sheriff: Undocumented immigrant stole identity of deputy
    Reported by: Deborah Stocks

    Last Update: 12:35 pm

PHOENIX -- The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says a man has been arrested for stealing the identity of one of its deputies and working illegally for two Valley construction companies.

According to a Thursday news release, the deputy learned of the theft when he was contacted by the U.S. Social Security Administration claiming he owed over $2,300 for jobs at two separate Valley construction companies that he'd never worked for.

Detectives reportedly confirmed that the suspect, 31-year-old Leobardo Estrada-Robles, was working for the two companies using the deputy's identity. The construction companies identified the suspect, who they referred to by the deputy's name.

While serving a search warrant at Estrada-Robles's residence, detectives seized other forms of identification, including permanent residence cards, printed with several different names and using his photo, according to authorities.

Estrada-Robles was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail on several felony counts of aggravated identity theft.

The Sheriff's Office learned that Estrada-Robles had been previously deported from the U.S. and returned illegally.

Illegals buying fake ID's should really ask where the ID came from.
    Thank you for the laugh.

    AZ-Sheriff

Why can't ordinary citizens demand action against Identity thieves. If this victim had not been in law enforcement, he would just be screwed. Identity theft is a CRISIS in this nation and no one in Social Security, National Security, or local government will touch the problem because it will impact the poor, hard working thieves, who just want to steal your life.
