Tuberculosis reported in City of Maricopa

Pinal County public health officials are investigating people who came in contact with a child who was found to have an active case of tuberculosis in the city of Maricopa.

The child, who was from Ethopia where tuberculosis is common, spent time living in Maricopa before moving to Washington state three months ago, according to health officials.

Some children came in contact with the child in a preschool and are being tested for the infection.
