Sixty-nine suspected illegal immigrants, including 38 at a drop house in Black Canyon City, have been detained during enforcement efforts by Yavapai County sheriff's deputies.

Deputies, acting on a tip, raided the drop house Saturday and discovered immigrants being held there against their will, said Dwight D'Evelyn, a sheriff's spokesman.

Earlier, 15 immigrants were rounded up after deputies stopped a truck with a Georgia license plate Thursday on Interstate 17 a few miles north of Camp Verde because of an equipment violation, D'Evelyn said Monday.

Later that day, another truck with an Alabama license plate was stopped on I-17 near Camp Verde and 15 illegal immigrants were found inside, he said.

All of the suspects were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents for possible deportation proceedings, D'Evelyn said.
