Indio Border Patrol Agents Arrest Gang Member Who is a Convicted Sex Offender

Indio, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Indio Station arrested a convicted sex offender and confirmed Border Brothers gang member yesterday that was illegally present in the United States.

On April 27, agents encountered a 37-year-old male while conducting transportation checks at the Greyhound Bus station. It was determined the subject was a citizen of Mexico without any legal immigration documents and he was subsequently arrested and transported to the Indio Border Patrol Station for further processing.

While at the station, records check revealed the subject was an aggravated felon convicted of carjacking with a firearm and unlawful sexual contact with a minor. The subject is also a heavily tattooed member of the Border Brothers, northern California street and prison gang. He is being held pending prosecution for Re-entry after Deportation.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
