Baja California reports homicides after lull
TIJUANA: The high-profile violence that has recently plagued the region returned after a two-week lull. On Wednesday, three men between the ages of 23 and 33 were fatally shot during the day by two men on a busy street, Tijuana police said. Authorities blame feuding drug cartels for the slaying of the three men. No arrests have been made. Between the afternoon of Jan. 23 and yesterday afternoon, 14 homicides were reported in Tijuana, raising the total for the year to 71, according to data from the Baja California Attorney General's Office.
Farther south, two Ensenada Police Department stations were attacked with semiautomatic rifle fire, one on Monday and another on Thursday, the Attorney General's Office said. No injuries were reported.
