    BAPTIST CHURCHES IGNORE THE LAW

    (QUOTE)

Texas Baptists to launch immigration services

    6/25/2007, 8:02 a.m. ET

    The Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — Some conservatives may reject comprehensive immigration reform as amnesty, but Baptists say the Bible mandates they back legalization.

The Baptist General Convention of Texas and Southern Baptists Convention have adopted resolutions embracing immigrants -- legal and illegal.

The Hispanic Baptist Convention today plans to unveil at its convention in Austin a national program to aid immigrants with obtaining citizenship, legal residency and other immigration problems.

The Hispanic convention is an arm of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

The decision to start the program was made after the Baptist General Convention of Texas approved a resolution acknowledging documented and undocumented immigrants are members of Baptist congregations.

The program won't be exclusive to Baptist congregations.

The bible does not talk about allowing illegals to cross borders. Who made this decision? Churchs should have to pay taxes when they start breaking the immigration law.

I want to know which part of the Bible mandates that this legislation be backed.

Obviously they have forgotten about Romans 13:1-7

I was just doing some research this weekend on Southern Baptist contributions to foreign projects. You would think with as much as they give to Latin America it would be enough. Also, the blacks who are impacted by illegals may split off from the SBC if they have not already done so.

Most religious groups at this time are buoyed by the good economic times the US is having. Consequently they are feeling very generous. For example, property owners, enjoying a significant apppreciation of their real estate holdings are now making sizeable bequests to their own denominations. Religious groups are also a little guilty about the wave of corporate corruption that has swept the US in the last decade. So they are "turning over a new leaf."

The Old Testament injunction to "welcome the stranger" reflects more ancient traditions of hospitality towards travelers. Just as Middle Eastern cultures today feel an obligation to treat a weary traveler with respect. The Isrealites still reacted very strongly when there was wholesale intrusion of their nation.

The Christian is more under the obligation to "Go into all the World." They are doing that through millions of volunteers who go abroad to help out; but the financial base of ordinary Americans needs to be protected.

You can be generous in giving to missionaries, to ministries, to individuals, but the purse or wallet will eventually run dry or be unable to sustain if an unplanned millions are suddenly the recipients of the dollars or gifts.

If you have a dinner for 8 guests and then plan for that number, and they show up with other uninvited people, you may be able to feed the group. If they keep bringing other uninvited guests, there will eventually not even be a morsel of food for each person.

These illegal aliens are uninvited, they are thankless, they feel no remorse or guilt, and yet they still demand Americans to support and maintain their lives and lifestyles for FREE to them.

So is the church supporting lawlessness, a pick and choose?

    Dear SBC,

This is NOT JUST. This is siding with law-breaking criminals. This promotes criminal activity, lawlessness, and anarchy. As one Christian to another Christian brother, the Southern Baptist Convention is playing "the devil's advocate." Moreover, to encourage illegal aliens to reside in the U.S. is a CRIME under 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv) or under INA 274A(a)(1)(A). The SBC is thereby committing crimes punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment, and a $10,000 (or $2,000) fine for each incident. There are similar penalties for harboring (sheltering or transporting) illegal aliens, a CRIME under 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iii). A RICO prosecution CAN INCLUDE NONPROFIT ASSOCIATIONS, in which case the SBC is liable for treble damages.

The traffic of illegal aliens across the southern border also runs cover for drug trafficking and sex trafficking. The author of "Amazing Grace," John Newton, wouldn't welcome smugglers of drugs and slaves. Nor would William Wilberforce. Would you?

But you will quote to me Exodus 22:21, about mistreating or oppressing strangers and sojourners, "for you were strangers in the land of Egypt." Do you believe the LORD was advocating for criminal trespassers, intruders, and invaders under the guise of "sojourners"?

God forbid! Joseph became a sojourner in Egypt as a slave of the Midianites. The children of Israel became sojourners in Egypt as Pharaoh's invited guests. None of the seventy who went down to Egypt broke any Egyptian law by seeking food in Egypt. None of the seventy criminally trespassed by entering the land of Egypt. None of the seventy was guilty of unlawful presence by taking up residence in Goshen. Shepherds were an abomination to the Egyptians, so none of the seventy and their descendants stole any Egyptian's livelihood by herding sheep.

Do not be deceived, along with those who are so deceived as to think that God endorsed illegal aliens - that is, criminal aliens - who violate the law by entering the country illegally. The United States welcomes more aliens than the rest of the world combined. But we deport aliens who are here illegally. Would God expect us to welcome Osama bin Laden?

Do not align the Southern Baptist Convention with the liberals of this world, the Ted Kennedys and Lindsey Grahams who want to "share with the poor illegal aliens" - not their own jobs and livelihoods, but jobs and livelihoods taken from American citizens. Scofflaw employers illegally employ illegal aliens, who have underbid displaced American citizen workers by being paid under-the-table, without paying federal and state taxes, Social Security, Workman's Comp, Medicare/Medicaid and unemployment insurance. And why should they? American citizen taxpayers make it up by paying illegal aliens' payroll deductions for them.

WHERE IS THE GOD OF AMOS? Where are the CHRISTIANS CRYING OUT FOR JUSTICE FOR LEGITIMATE AMERICAN CITIZEN WORKERS who have been put out of work in favor of lawbreakers who work for substandard wages and pay no taxes?

The Lord Jesus never once violated the laws of Rome or of Israel or of Moses, nor did He teach His disciples to break the law in order to show compassion. What would Jesus do? (He instituted governments and appointed authorities to punish evildoers.) Please tell me in writing how the Southern Baptist Convention is changing course to align this great institution with the immigration laws of the United States of America.

With deep respect, I thank you for your leadership.

    Sincerely in Christ,

    (Your name here)

P.S. 23 million African-Americans are unemployed. A large percentage of these 23 million souls are displaced by illegal aliens illegally working in the U.S. for rogue employers. In the past five years, illegal aliens have underbid African-Americans' jobs and taken them from legitimate citizen workers. Now, local citizens cannot even attempt to get those jobs, because the work crews speak only Spanish.

It's not about race. It's not even about immigration. It's about ILLEGAL!
One man's terrorist is another man's undocumented worker.

Unless we enforce laws against illegal aliens today,
tomorrow WE may wake up as illegals.

The last word: illegal aliens are ILLEGAL!

Well, this Southern Baptist certainly doesn't embrace illegal immigrants or illegal immigration!

SBC end BGC condone illegal border crossings? What other crimes do they advocate? Do they know how many Americans are victims of these criminals?
