Authorities busted a drop house where several illegal immigrants were being held against their will Monday night in Phoenix. The Illegal Immigration Prevention and Apprehension Co-Op Team responded to the residence after receiving a report that the suspected illegal immigrants being held for ransom. When officers arrived to the home, at least eight illegal immigrants were being held. Two men were arrested on suspicions of human smuggling.
Detectives received a call from one of the victim's relatives in Mexico. The caller said her relative and others were being held for $7,000. IIMPACT investigators were able to locate the house through specialized investigative techniques.
The illegal immigrants were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Thank heavens someone tipped them off and they found them. They whine about how America terriorizes them (illegals) but I can't think it's a weekend at the Hilton for how the smugglers treat them.

Watch for a TREMENDOUS surge in kidnappings in the US (kidnapping must have occurred in US to get U visa).Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

The visa thing would not surprise me although I hadn't heard about that one.
What I have heard about is IAs in Maricopa County claiming to be kidnap victims in order to avoid being criminally charged as co-conspirators under AZ's Coyote Law.
This particular scam started shortly after Joe Arpaio and Andrew Thomas began prosecuting them under the law.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Here's likely what it's all about (the scam as azwreath and miguelina have talked about):
Victim Visas—How America Stupidly Rewards Misfortune and Fraud
By Brenda Walker
In my midnight moments of immigration-anarchy-induced depression, I imagine a stealth cadre of immigration lawyers housed deep within the White House whose job is to devise fiendish ideas for the worst possible visa categories, in order to desensitize citizens to the nation-wrecking insanity afoot.
Near the top of the list of Washington's corrosive creations (which include Diversity Visas and asylum/refugee policies that are welcome mats for fraud) would be the “Victim Visaâ€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Another millionaire widow stopped going to 9/11 support groups because she feared that families of police officers and firefighters might betray her.
