BBC says that Ted Cruz is a 2016 presidential hopeful

Senator Ted Cruz yet to renounce Canadian citizenship

    • Tea Party favourite indicated move last week
    • 2016 presidential hopeful was born in Calgary, Alberta

The Canadian-born US Senator Ted Cruz has yet to renounce his Canadian citizenship as promised, but looks forward to the process being completed soon.

Catherine Frazier, a spokeswoman for the conservative Tea Party favorite from Texas, said on Saturday that lawyers are preparing the paperwork. She said Cruz, who was born in Calgary, Alberta, "has been fully focused on fighting for Texans' values and interests" and "looks forward to the process being completed soon".

Frazier's response came after a Canadian immigration attorney said the process was simple and wondered about the delay.

Richard Kurland, a Vancouver-based immigration attorney, told the Associated Press on Friday that unless there was a security or mental-health issue that hadn't been disclosed, renouncing citizenship was a simple, quick process.

"If he's attempting to bring our system into disrepute by suggesting it's lengthy and complex, it's just not true. Revocation is one of the fastest processes in our system," said Kurland.

Cruz took office last year, but is already being mentioned as a possible Republican presidential contender in 2016. Last fall, he gained national fame as one of the faces of the government shutdown, forced by conservative Republicans in a failed attempt to depower or repeal President Barack Obama's signature healthcare reform, the Affordable Care Act.

In August, amid questions about his eligibility for the presidency, Cruz released his birth certificate. He also pledged to renounce his Canadian citizenship.
I don't even care if he eligible or not. If I am given the choice of somebody who is either an immigrant from any South or Central American country or descended from somebody who is, I will always vote for the other candidate. If he wins the nomination for president in '16, the democrat running against him will get my vote, no questions asked.

Cruz was born to an American Citizen, which from what I understand makes him an American Citizen too. There a many fine citizens in this country that have an immigrant parent. So, are you saying you would actually vote for someone who most certainly supports amnesty over someone who doesn't? Sort of goes against what we're fighting for, doesn't it?

If Cruz doesn't renounce his Canadian citizenship he can't run for president of the U.S.

President of The North American Union, MAYBE.

. . . So according to the Constitution, which explicitly and unambiguously uses with the term "natural born" when referring to qualifications for someone to be the US president, no, a US president cannot have dual citizenship. They must have that singular allegiance that can only be derived from having been born of US soil - "born here".

Nobody whose parents are not both US citizens should be considered a citizen at birth.

If this person is elected president, he will march in lock step with his wretched predecessor. He is the exact same problem, from the exact same people. His father was a Marxist.

    Have people lost their minds?

Rafael Cruz is not a Marxist, but he accused Obama of it.

Ted Cruz’s Dad: ‘Obama Should Go Back To…’

With the country in the shape that it is in, President Obama has been called many things, but in April, 2013 at the North Texas Tea Party, Rafael Cruz stated that the U.S. is a Christian nation, and added that Obama is an “outright Marxist” who “seeks to destroy all concept of God.” He then urged the crowd to send Obama “Back to Kenya!”

Rafael Cruz, father of Sen. Ted Cruz, is a preacher and an activist leading the Tea Party. Father Cruz is not ashamed to proclaim the facts concerning the Democratic presidency. like the 16 trillion dollars that our country is in debt. His inflammatory remarks on controversial statements have moved Rafael Cruz out into the limelight lately.

Rafael Cruz quotes scriptures and acknowledges God in every political rally and meeting he is a part of. He immigrated to the US in 1957, and leads Purifying Fire Ministries in Texas.

Sen. Ted Cruz is a Tea Party champion, who ran for Senate just last year. Throughout the campaign, Rafael openly called the President a “Marxist,” and reminded Obama that “The United States of America was formed to honor God!” Sen. Cruz states that he is very proud of his father, who he says is living the American Dream.

The left and the RINOs seem to have started their attacks on Cruz early because he is very real danger to their agendas. JMO.

Anyone who supports a Canadian for president of the United States whose father was a Marxist is a traitor. I don't care what kind of Republican they claim to be.

The great thing about this country is that you can vote for the person of your choice for any reason that you choose and so can everyone else.

Please post your proof that Rafael Cruz is a Marxist.
