Drug agents conducted surveillance and arrested a Bend resident and previously deported illegal immigrant Thursday night as he attempted to make a methamphetamine delivery at a Pizza Hut restaurant on Third Street, drug agents said.

Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team detectives had determined that someone was going to deliver drugs in the area of Northeast Third Street, near Robberson Ford, said Lt. John Gautney.

Detectives set up surveillance in the area, and after a short while, around 7:30 p.m., a man matching the person's description was seen entering the Pizza Hut, Gautney said.

Detectives contacted the man, later identified as Alfonso Olquin-Ojeda, 25, inside the restaurant and determined he was there to deliver meth and possessed about an ounce of the drug, the lieutenant said. He was taken into custody without incident.

The man identified himself to officers as Guadalupe Lopez Lopez, Gautney said.

Detectives later searched Olquin-Ojeda's residence, Apartment 80 at the Teal Court Townhomes, 2155 NE 6h St. in Bend and located more meth, cash and scales used to weigh the drug before sales, the lieutenant said.

During the investigation, detectives seized about 68 grams of meth, worth almost $4,000, as well as more than $5,200 in cash, digital scales and a 1999 Pontiac.

Olquin-Ojeda, who also was known as Rene Gonzalez Leon, was booked into the Deschutes County Jail on charges of drug manufacture, delivery and possession, and frequenting a place where drugs are kept or sold.

He also was placed on a no-bail detainer for U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents.
