Ok, they pay some sales tax. As for paying into social security under fake #'s, tough - to me it is a double penalty - first, being here illegally and second using a fake SS # (which may cause a nightmare for the real person's SS#).
And if they are granted amnesty most will earn under $40,000 annually which means in the long run they will not pay any federal income tax.
The economy would recover from their loss mainly because of the financial strain on our schools, hospitals, prisons, food stamps, whatever would decline dramatically. True, some employers would be hurting for awhile but I'd gladly pay more for a head of lettuce and the rest if we could have a more stable unified country again.
And most important we need to give our workers back their jobs which many have lost due to illegals.
We need our middle class back, that is the real backbone of this country.
