Bi-National Collaboration Leads to More Rescues

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol worked with the Government of Mexico (GoM) to rescue 15 migrants.

Early this morning, McAllen agents working near Los Ebanos, Texas, spotted a group of people staged near the Mexican riverbank.

Agents contacted the RGV Sector Foreign Operations Branch who coordinated with the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) officials to respond to the area. INM located and rescued the 15 subjects who intended to enter the U.S. but were abandoned by their smuggler.

Bi-national efforts between the United States Border Patrol and the GoM have led to the rescue of more than 500 people this fiscal year.

The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and report suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.

Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation.

The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.

Set up a Bi-National Medical Tent where all illegals are transported to the border for treatment and Mexico pays the costs of treatment.

No more sending them to OUR medical facilities.
