BI orders deportation of 154 illegal aliens

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is poised to deport 154 foreign nationals who were arrested in Pasay City last month for operating an online gaming business without the appropriate work visas and permits.

A resolution issued by the BI Board of Commissioners last August 14 ordered the summary deportation order of the 154 foreigners who were among the 191 aliens arrested last July 20 inside a rented unit at the Star Cruises Bldg. along Andrews Avenue, Pasay City.

he board also ordered the inclusion of the aliens in the immigration blacklist of undesirable aliens to prevent them from re-entering the Philippines.

It was learned that 14 of the arrested foreigners were undocumented for their failure to present travel documents while the visas of the remaining 140 aliens will be canceled for violating the conditions of their stay in the country.

The aliens are presently detained at the BI detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City.,The board resolution also ordered the employer of the illegal aliens, Chong Hua General Enterprises Co. Ltd., to pay the government an administrative fine of P4.4 million.
