Former acting Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Mark Morgan says that a decline in border enforcement resources will adversely impact America's security.

"It's a significant loss from A to Z," Morgan said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "First of all, the basic technology and surveillance- they're taking away eyes in the sky as we call it."

Reports emerged last month that the Biden administration decided to reduce the number of aerostats or "Eyes in the Sky" balloons that help border patrol agents monitor the southern border.

"This is an important tool because among the 2000 miles; they [border patrol] cannot physically be able to cover all 2000 miles," Morgan explained. "There isn't enough, nor will [there] ever be enough."

He asserted the Border Patrol must use a multi-layer strategy to defend the southern border and having important resources removed takes them a step back.

"If you remove any element of that multi-layer strategy, whether it's a wall system, or in this case technology with that aerostat, you are literally removing one leg of the third legged stool that they utilize to secure our border," Morgan concluded.
