LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Little Rock police said vice detectives have arrested a vendor at the Arkansas State Fair on suspicion of selling fake name-brand purses and other goods.

Lt. Terry Hastings saod detectives found fake Louis Vuitton, Coach, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana purses in a booth run by Boukare Ouiya, 52, of Aurora, Colo. Hastings said agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement later determined Ouiya was an illegal immigrant from North Africa.

Police confiscated the purses and fake Nike tennis shoes into police custody. Ouiya told police he was not the owner of the booth but was unable to contact the owner, according to a police report.

Ralph Shoptaw, general manager of the fair, said his understanding is that booths can sell whatever they want, as long as they acknowledge the goods aren't legitimate.
