Thread: Bill would block credit cards for illegals

This bill was mentioned on Lou Dobbs today and he said Rep Marsha Blackburn would be a guest on his show tomorrow.

E-mail you Congress person, It may or may not do any good, as in my case. My Congressman is Van Hollen who only shows up for openings of things having to do with pro-illegal immigrants.

Bank of America spokesmen maintain that they follow the letter of the law in permitting customers to use the forms of identification permissible under the U.S.A. Patriot Act. That includes matricula consular cards issued by the Mexican government.

does the bill repeal that? i hope so.

I do not believe we can support this because it calls for everyone to have to have Real ID which is biometric ID.

We would lose half of our support base supporting this.

Approximately half of the people strongly opposed to illegal immigration are fervently against Real ID and biometric National ID requirements.

This is not the bill for us.

But W: it says SS w/ photo ID OR Real ID. It looks like Blackburn was just trying to cover the possibility that Real Id would pass? It doesn't absolutely require Real ID.

I have talked with her office just now. They say that an American can get accounts without being in Real ID. I am waiting on written confirmation from her office about this before providing it to the boycott leaders.

I'm not going to make this decision alone. I will poll the coalition leaders once I have the info in hand.
