Billionaires bankroll heart-tugging ad campaign to champion amnesty

“It is funded by a bunch of Silicon Valley billionaires, people like Bill Gates. Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates have no conception anymore of the reality that most Americans live with"
A pro-border enforcement organization says Silicon Valley billionaires pushing for amnesty are behind a heart-tugging ad campaign.

The television ads are being funded by a group called fwd.us, which has virtually unlimited resources.

"This fwd.us is a creation of Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook,” says Ira Mehlman of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, or FAIR.

“It is funded by a bunch of Silicon Valley billionaires, people like Bill Gates," he adds.

The television ads have been airing on conservative-leaning outlets such as Fox News. One of the ads tells the touching story of an illegal alien brought to the United States as a child, who enrolled in ROTC in high school but can't join the U.S. military because he is in the country illegally.

"There are 7 billion people in the world and lots of people have sympathetic stories,” says Melhman of the ad. "But we can't make policy based on that because it affects the lives of so many other people."

Regarding the powerful figures behind the ad campaign, Melhman alleges they are attempting to appear as a “grassroots organization that has the interest of ordinary Americans in mind.”

He adds, “Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates have no conception anymore of the reality that most Americans live with."

Mehlman says this group is trying to convince ordinary Americans that giving amnesty to millions of illegal aliens is in their best interests, when in fact most Americans understand it's not.

Psychologists will tell you that EMOTION OBLITERATES LOGIC. LOGIC IS VIRTUALLY USELESS AGAINST A HEART TUGGING SOB STORY. We need to use emotional anecdotes of our own to answer every phony "argument" of the open borders lobby, every amnesty peddlers sob story should be answered with a sad story of the hardships US citizens suffer because of the uncontrolled, illegal migration of foreigners into our home land.

We should obliterate them on the emotional appeals strategy. We should be able to make that whole strategy backfire against them. What is worse the father of a child being deported to Mexico or a 13 year old girl gang raped by illegal aliens? What is worse an agricultural worker being made to go home to Mexico or an unemployed American citizen who can not find work because illegal aliens have taken all the jobs? Because of illegal aliens there are US citizen who are worried sick about feeding their kids and ending up out on the street without a home.

THIS IS HOW WE SHOULD ANSWERE THE POOR LITTLE ILLEGAL ALIEN GIRL'S HARDSHIP STORY.

I've been saying the same thing. Yes they have some good sob stories and anyone with a heart is going to feel the power of these videos and react in favor of immigration reforem, HOWEVER...Where are all the stories of the lost hope of American citizens who sometimes have to choose between food or life saving medicines? Where are the stories of our hungry and homeless families? Where are the stories showing our citizens broken down into tears of sadness and defeat and joblessness? Where is their sympathy?

This looks like a wonderful young man and I am sure he could go through the proper channels if he feels that strongly about being an American. We have our own citizen kids who feel just as strongly and have served in the military and may have even lost their life for their country.

Our own stories must be told and must be heard above a foreigner's.
