Blacks and Hispanics to hold Joint Press Conference

    Article Posted: 06/15/2007 2:11:56 PM
Blacks and Hispanics Opposed to Amnesty Bill to hold Joint Press Conference

Those hit hardest by the effects of massive illegal immigration, particularly in major urban areas, are often legal American black and Hispanic citizens. Their voices are being muted in the current Senate debate by powerful business influences demanding cheap foreign labor and special interests representing illegal aliens.

The two leading black and Hispanic advocacy organizations for immigration reform will hold a joint news conference in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, June 19, to put a human face on the victims of illegal immigration and the proposed amnesty. "More often than not, the faces of those most directly harmed by mass illegal immigration are brown or black," stated retired Col. Al Rodriguez, chairman of You Don't Speak for Me, a coalition of American Hispanics opposed to the illegal alien amnesty. "Millions of hard-working American Hispanics are victimized by illegal immigration when resources are diverted from their children's education to make room for the children of illegal aliens, and every time they look for work only to find that the job has gone to an illegal alien."

"For centuries, American blacks struggled first for emancipation and then for their full rights and opportunities as citizens," stated Ted Hayes, chairmen of Choose Black America, the leading black organization fighting against amnesty. "Illegal immigration and the proposed amnesty threaten to undo that struggle in the space of one generation. Before George Bush and a handful of legislators in Washington sign away our children's future, we demand a seat at the table to have our voices heard."

So much was John F. Kennedy was for the civil rights and emancipation of the black community, yet not one word about them and how they would be affected from his fat brother Teddy.

So glad they're finally going to the press with this statement. The real racism and bigotry lies in ignoring the effects of illegal aliens on Hispanic Americans while claiming to do what is best for Hispanic Americans, and worse, claiming it is with the consent of most Hispanic Americans. I wish they'd call liberals on THEIR racism and bigotry.

ITA. It is indeed about time that the full effect on ALL AMERICANS is represented in this battle. So much for the claims of racist, xenophia, etc. I wonder what names the masses of LaRaza supporters will call Americans against Illegal Immigration now

Maybe so, but if he were here today, he would be driving illegals across the border himself. The only reason Ted isn't doing that is because he can't keep a car on a bridge.

The elite are ALL for this, and all liberals want to be elite. Like they say, liberals are SO open minded their brains fall out.

    Legal Immigrants

My wife and I have a friend from Chile. She's a legal immigrant and she's been here for years. She's educated and she speaks multiple languages. She works as a translator and one of the many services that she provides is English to Spanish translation for defendants in court. So, she sees a lot of illegal immigrants. She is completely against illegal immigration and she knows first hand how hard it is to get into this country through legal channels. She has decided to quit providing translation services for illegal immigrants because she doesn't want to enable people to break the law and then to walk away. She goes to the rallies and she is very vocal against this amnesty bill. She is just one example out of many.

The latest Rassmussen Poll states that only 15% approve of Bush' s shamnesty bill. It's great to see blacks and legal hispanics coming together!
