    "Bush # one watches while???

I can`t, for the life of me, understand how bush # one can set around and watch while his son,"bush # 2",Renders Meaningless, every life given for this country, all of the suffering and all of the sacrafices made by Americans,to keep America free.In WW1,WW2,Korea,Viet Nam and Iraq and every War in between. Many men and women died and suffered greatly to keep this country,America, Free.
bush # one just sets there and watches while his son ,Degrades every soldier, that has ever fought for this country.
This one little RUNT of a man makes it all "Meaningless",a waste of life.
I can`t believe that all of the men and women that died for this country died for,Nothing. If they would have known that the son of "One of them" would make all of that suffering and Death, meaningless I say bush # one would have never come home, someone would have"FRAGGED" him.
When I see the VFW stand behind bush and Smile and Clap thier hands while bush speaks,it makes me want to PUKE.

I agree about those poor vets CLAPPING. SOME of them look like it is SUCH AN EFFORT so they are probably TOLD that, if they don't act enthusiastic, they are gonna lose some of their PITIFUL BENEFITS! You KNOW they can't POSSIBLY really SUPPORT this IDIOT who has chosen to take our country to war for NO REASON.

And, what I have FEARED all along is now happening. From the very first moment that I sensed Bush was GOING to IRAQ or die trying, I kept saying that we had BETTER be worried about Iran and North Korea but, OF COURSE, he didn't LISTEN TO ME. Now, we find ourselves in a TERRIBLE DILEMMA with Iran thumbing their noses at US, the IAEA and the EU over the nuclear weapons. And, we are SPREAD SO THIN that there is just NO WAY we could possibly send our military to Iran where it is REALLY NEEDED. And, Iran KNOWS that. All of these threats of sanctions aren't going to work because Russia and China aren't going to go along with that. AND, it is going to be EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to build any significant coalition after he made such a FOOL of our country over all of the IRAQ errors. We are in ONE MESS and I don't see any good way out of it.

jcalex...I think what perturbs me most is that all those wars you mentioned were NOT American wars...did nothing for America at all...the only one that might have been a threat eventually to this nation was WWll. The others...well...what national interest was served to have a 'police action' in Korea..or Viet Nam?? Or Bosnia? Or Afghanistan? Or Iraq?

It served certain politicians and their cronies..Lyndon Johnsons 'friends' in the munitions manufacturing industries got filthy rich via Viet Nam...( I always thought that Kennedy was assassinated b/c he planned to get OUT of Viet Nam. jmo and we all have them)

We were heavily taxed ( a 10% 'surtax' was imposed for both Korea and Viet Nam) we were financially bled...our young men were drafted to be killed in those 'wars'. The end result being that with every little firefight in every little nation we are 'expected' to 'intervene' at our own expense...using our own men...our own materiels...to get them over there and too often abandon very expensive military hardware.

I submit, just my humble opinion, that as far as the rest of the world is concerned we would have been far better off to stop the sabre rattling...stay out of the affairs of other nations..I think Viet Nam alone cost 58,000 LIVES...we left billions of dollars worth of equipment in Viet Nam...but it will always be the lives we left there that will haunt me.

Whether or not Iran has nuclear weapons shouldn't matter all that much...India has them...Pakistan has them...Russia...China...on and on......we haven't successfully stopped North Korea, either. We should only step up to the plate on things when we truly intend to DO SOMETHING...not fight ANOTHER war that we have not the will to win...as in Irag..as in Korea...as in Viet Nam...our foreign policy is the absolute pits.

Our TRUE war is on the southern border. Iraq is merely an 'excuse' to keep people looking in the other direction...just another subterfuge....but our southern border is where we can and might lose this nation.

OH--and the OTHER THING that REALLY burns me about Iran is that ALL of the politicians this weekend were talking about the fact that Iran has threatened to WIPE ISRAEL OFF THE MAP. I don't know but I kind of got the feeling that this was gonna be yet ANOTHER case of taking US to war to protect ISRAEL. Now, THAT would infuriate me. AND, that is what it is whether they admit it or not. They CERTAINLY don't have a delivery system that would reach us like NORTH KOREA in all likelihood DOES. THAT is who they REALLY need to worry about. You're right though, RR--I would think that PAKISTAN would be a scary threat. As long as Musharaff is there, I THINK we are alright but he could be gone in a heartbeat. AND, you are also right about all of the wars except WW II. WE were attacked at Pearl Harbor. Aside from that, we should have minded our own business. CERTAINLY IN THE MIDDLE EAST OF ALL PLACES. It's ISRAEL AND THE NEOCONS.

Bootsie, Israel is also a nuclear power...and if Iran is thinking about 'wiping them off the map' perhaps they should take heed...I believe they whupped up on a couple of nations in a 6 Day War...?? And then followed up that success with a 3 Day War?? 1967-1973 respectively.

Israel is perfectly capable of taking care of itself. At least when Israel goes to war they don't 'stop at the 38th parellell', etc. They go to war to WIN.

If Iran has a couple of little nuclear warheads..they should take great care to annoy Israel with them.

My thoughts too. I think Israel is able to defend herself and I think WE need to stay out of the MIDDLE EAST unless DIRECTLY THREATENED. We already SEE what a mess we created by going to Iraq. LET ISRAEL TAKE CARE OF IRAN. I heard last night that we get the biggest part of our intelligence from Israel and it just confirmed something I have felt all along. I have felt that Israel and the Iraqi National Congress--Chalabi's group--had the most to gain by getting us involved in a war in Iraq and I firmly believe that, when this administration claims that EVERY OTHER COUNTRY HAD THE SAME INTELLIGENCE, it all came from the SAME SOURCES--Israel and the Iraqi National Congress. That aren't fooling ME!

"RoadRunner" The Bond that exist between Soldiers fighting,in any war,is the strongest of bonds. This Bond exist in Bad Wars and Good Wars.
Many Americans are Bound by this "War Bond" so to speak.
Fighting for America?........This Ignorant Soldier thought so.
The number of other "Igonrant Slodiers",I can only guess, their are many.
These soldiers thought thay were fighting for American...that`s what they were told.....by their leaders, just like today.
Our President has never paid, and does not now, pay, Allegeance to this country. He has no bond with America,or Americans.
His father does, and there lies the RUB.

Whoa now...I didn't say anyone was an 'ignorant soldier' (let's don't put words on my fingers that never existed)...the congress has (or the president has) sent this nation to war, sent our men to fight...for causes not our own. These are 'political reasons'....and what I'm saying is that I don't believe America should be the MP's or the police force for other nations. If they can get into a war...let them get out of that same war. Europe and Asia have been fighting wars since before the time of Christ. Why should we interfere??

The scots side of my family can be traced back to the 1600's...I'm a DAR, they also fought in the confederacy so I'm a DOC...they also fought in the Texas Revolution so I'm a DTR...my cherokee side didn't fight much...they waited too late...but the scots fought like fiends...My husband was in the Navy when Viet Nam was going on...my son(his stepson) was in Cambodia---where they say we never went---at the tail end of Viet Nam. There is NO man in my family that hasn't fought in one or more of these wars and 'police actions'. We have a grandson in Iraq...we had another in Desert Storm...

All this means that I am entitled to my opinions on wars and going to war.....okay?
